Nissan GT-R Cabrio by Newport Convertible Engineering

Special Edition

Chopping the roof off of everyone’s favorite car.

Newport Convertible Engineering of Huntington, California has just announced that it will build a highly-limited Cabrio edition of the Nissan GT-R. The topless GT-R will be marketed in three worldwide locations: its US headquarters in sunny California, Barcelona, Spain, and of course Dubai. Though details are still limited, Newport Convertible Engineering says it has three designs available for customer bespoke orders.

While the added roof-mechanism weight might somewhat slow down the monstrous 545-horsepower GT-R- which makes 0-60 mph in as little as 2.8 seconds, we expect the Cabrio to be a real beauty and still retain a lot of the coupe's performance abilities. NCE has already produced special edition convertibles for various models from Rolls Royce, Range Rover, Mercedes Benz, Ferrari, BMW, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Ford, Honda, Jaguar, Lexus, Mazda, Nissan, Pontiac, Porsche, Toyota, Volkswagen, Volvo and even an Acura TL.
