Nissan GT-R Races Fighter Jet

/ Comments

See how the 550-horsepower Godzilla sizes up to a 22,000hp jet.

The latest iteration of the Nissan GT-R is powered by a 3.8-liter V6 good for 545 hp and 463 lb-ft of torque that propels the supercar-killer from 0-60 mph in 2.7 secs. In other words, it can destroy pretty much anything on the road, so Nissan apparently thought it was time to pit it against another kind of vehicle altogether. Enter the Hawker Hunter, a fighter jet packing a Rolls-Royce jet engine with around 22,000 horsepower and a 715-mph top speed. Two met up on a runway in Switzerland for a little showdown.

The speaking portions of the video are in German, so you can skip to the four-minute mark if you aren't fluent. But the high-octane grudge match requires no translation. (Photos courtesy of CS Digital Automotive Photography.)
