In order to keep up with competitors, Nissan continues to increase the power and performance with its famed GT-R. And although it's already six years old, Nissan is planning to increase the GT-R's power by 30hp for the upcoming Spec V model, giving the 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 an output of 560hp. Also planned is a Spec R model, which would see a weight decrease by around 80 pounds. However, development has been put on hold due to the aftermath of the Japanese earthquake and tsunami.

Despite the tragedies, Nissan intends to give the GT-R a proper send-off before a new model debuts. Nissan is predicting that development will continue sometime in September. As of now, Nissan has not given any indication when the next GT-R will arrive.
