Nissan North America has launched their first foray into the commercial vehicle market. The 2012 Nissan NV is meant to not only help Nissan expand into another segment, but to also show they're capable of building a large body-on-frame industrial van. Set to be built at Nissan's Canton, MS. Assembly facility, the NV is scheduled to go on sale in early Spring 2011. It'll be available in three models with either standard or high roof configurations.

The models will include the NV1500 that comes with a standard 4.0-liter V6, the NV2500 HD has a choice of the 4.0-liter V6 or a 5.6-liter V8. And finally, the NV3500 HD comes standard with the 5.6-liter V8 All 2012 NVs are equipped with a five-speed automatic transmission. Other features will include full access rear doors that have a maximum opening angle of 243 degree, water repellant cloth seats, reinforced integrated cargo area mounting points for better durability, and ease of cargo management system installation.

There are also vertical side wells in the cargo area that help to maximize usable space. MSRP retail prices start at $24,590 and top off at $32,190.
