Nissan Puts on Most Ambitious Self Driving Demo Yet

Our dream of playing GTA while driving is coming in the not too distant future.

Looks like the movies Minority Report and Total Recall rubbed off on the right geeks in the last 20 years. Google has not been shy announcing they are testing autonomous vehicles, and even went as far as signing a deal with Mayor Bloomberg to replace NYC taxis with Google self driving cabs one day. Hello Johnny Cab. Those films must have been equally popular in Japan because Nissan recently made a pretty big impression at the CEATEC show in Japan demoing it's latest simulation of self driven cars with the their Nissan Leaf.

It was a big step up from their self parking demo last year. So much so that it attracted Toyota CEO, Akio Toyoda, to come give the technology a spin.
