At this week's Beijing Motor Show Nissan unveiled an all-new global sedan dubbed the Sylphy concept, claiming it will be released in most major markets worldwide during 2012. The Japanese automaker followed this up with a press release in which they stated the new model will be the basis for an all-new 2013 Nissan Sentra, releasing a teaser video and a couple of images. "Sentra is the third of five all-new core models we'll be introducing in a 15-month product onslaught."

"The all-new Altima goes on sale this summer and will be followed closely by the all-new Pathfinder and Sentra. And when the next two new models launch in 2013, we will have refreshed 75 percent of our volume, rewarding our loyal owners and attracting new customers into Nissan showrooms," said Brian Carolin, vice president, Sales and Marketing, NNA.

Comparing the images of the Sylphy concept with the teaser video it's clear we're looking at the same car. The redesigned sedan has been given a lowered stance, LED-bordered headlamps, LED taillights and chrome trim, while the modern design language of the exterior continues inside. The cabin is decidedly roomy and has been kitted out in high quality materials, dual-zone a/c, Intelligent Key and keyless pushbutton ignition. Noise isolation, vibration absorption and an advanced suspension system with optimized high-stiffness body ensures a smooth ride, while a 1.8-liter engine with XTRONIC CVT helps deliver excellent fuel efficiency.

As we approach the launch of the all-new 2013 Nissan Sentra, more details and specs are sure to be revealed.
