The current generation Nissan Titan is solid, but it's gotten long in the tooth. Recently, Nissan announced a new generation isn't far away, and on Thursday gave us a teaser of the 2020 Titan in the form of a single image. We also learned that it will debut at the Texas State Fair, which has become the place for the automotive industry to show off its latest and greatest trucks and SUVs. Which is fair enough as Texas has the largest market for trucks in the US, and the Texas State Fair is awesome. It's also where the 2019 model debuted its new tech.

Nissan is playing things close to its chest with the new one, but we do know a few things. What we are seeing here is the new "hot" Nissan badge featuring "lava red accents" for the off-road-ready PRO-4X model. It also looks like the lava theme for the off-road designation will have red lettering on Nissan's logo.

The teaser image shows us things have gotten sleeker at the front and sharper squared-off LED accents will replace the current truck's single element LED styling. We'll have to wait for the smoke to clear in Texas to see any more though.

Nissan recently announced that it would drop the Cummins turbodiesel 5.0-liter V8 engine from the current lineup in December, so we're not expecting it to appear for the next generation. That will leave the Titan with its gasoline-powered 5.6-liter V8 engine, and we expect the same to be so of the new Titan.

Titan sales have, expectedly due to its age, been in decline this year. Hopefully, the new model will put the brand back on the truck map. We'll find out after the state fair, and when it starts appearing and disappearing from dealer lots early in 2020.
