The Nissan Titan XD is an interesting option in the truck market thanks to its 5.0-liter V8 turbodiesel engine from Cummins. However, the Titian had been somewhat of an afterthought to us with more exciting pickup trucks like the Ford F-150 Raptor hogging the spotlight. Nissan has shown off the Titan Warrior Concept in the past, which could steal some of the Raptor's thunder. Instead of bringing a production version of the Warrior to the "The Work Truck Show", Nissan decided to bring a Titan designed for tailgate BBQs.

The 2018 Smokin' Titian features a custom flatbed with built-in smoker and a fully functional mobile kitchen with its own sink. Nissan says it was designed as a "dream project vehicle for tailgating and barbecuing enthusiasts." We saw something similar from Land Rover when it built a custom car for celebrity chef Jamie Oliver. The Titan's transformation began with the addition of a custom aluminum CM Truck Bed: allowing space for three food prep stations each featuring a Partner Steel aluminum double burner stove and a Churrasco Brazilian Wood cutting board.

A Teton Steel custom sink and water storage system help to clean up the mess at the end of the day and the sink can be replaced by a Yeti Cooler when cold storage is needed. The rear seat of the truck even features an ARB 50-qt. fridge freezer and a custom spice rack. In addition to the built-in facilities, Nissan included a trailer with a built-in smoker and storage for wood chips and smoker pellets. Nissan really put everything into the Smokin' Titan to make it the best BBQ truck on the planet. It was a nice effort, but we would have much preferred a production version of that awesome Titan Warrior Raptor-fighter.
