To commemorate the arrival of the all-new Nissan Z, the Japanese manufacturer has introduced two complementary wristwatches which come as the ultimate accessory for those looking to purchase the sports car. These were introduced at the Tokyo Auto Salon alongside the unique retro-inspired custom body kit. As you can expect, it will be an exclusive offering with the company confirming that only 1,700 units will be sold, globally.

Put together in collaboration with Citizen Watch, we now know that each example boasts an asking price of $2,495. That is quite a mark-up compared to the rest of the watchmaker's stock but these particular pieces come with the promise of exclusivity and premium materials. They are available in Seiran Blue and Ikazuchi Yellow which are the shades also found on the two reveal cars.

The Seiran Blue edition is contrasted by a matte black center dial which has been designed to represent the look of your average asphalt highway. Silver hands and indexes have been used to break the dark theme while a red second hand is indicative of the redline of the Z's tachometer. The finishing touch is a Fairlady Z logo that rests below the Citizen branding on the face together with Nissan's badge on the back of the case.

The Ikazuchi Yellow edition changes things up a bit by showing off a collage of dots along the face. These are inspired by the perforated material of the car's sea. Like its blue counterpart, this item features a red second hand as well as contrasting details such as an all-black case, band, dial, hands, and indexes. For those who frequently travel across time zones, both Nissan Fairlady Z watch features Citizen's light-powered Eco-Drive Atomic Timekeeping functionality. Using this, it will automatically adjust to the time and calendar by reading the time signals of four different regions.

Complementary watches always seem to surface when a special car is launched. Porsche is one such manufacturer that frequently releases wristwatches through its Porsche Design department. The latest is an example that commemorates the 50th anniversary of this division .

Even car-related franchises such as Fast and Furious are treated to bespoke watches. Last year, Jacob & Co got onboard to punt the franchise with a very exclusive $580,000 limited edition model to celebrate its ninth movie and 20th anniversary of the first movie. Just nine of these were put together.
