Brand-new Gulf Blue supercar is heading to auction.
There are a lot of checklists that wealthy enthusiasts will have to satisfy to get their hands on the new Ford GT and with only 1,000 models slated for production, getting one will be almost impossible. However, this incredible 2006 Ford GT Heritage Edition, which is heading to the Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach auction on April 8, looks like a tasty alternative. According to Barrett-Jackson, this Heritage Edition is one of only 343 models built and is finished in Gulf Blue and Orange.
Unlike the new GT, this 2006 model features a 5.4-liter supercharged V8 matched to a proper six-speed manual transmission. This specific example only has five miles on the clock and the interior is still wrapped in plastic. Previous examples of the GT in its Heritage Edition guise have sold for insane amounts of money, but Hagerty values this supercar in excellent condition at $505K. With only five miles on it, we're sure this supercar will fetch a lot more money than its estimated amount. At that price, the new GT is looking like a better option, but having a V8 and a manual transmission might be worth it.
