AMG GLE 63 Coupe

BMW really knows how to maximize profit from a single SUV platform. About a decade ago, BMW engineers figured they could take the X5's platform and drop a new but smaller body on top. The result was the X6, and it sold like mad. So of course an X6 M was inevitable. That too made serious bank. Because German automakers are absolutely shameless about copying one another, Mercedes-Benz more recently unveiled its X6 fighter, the GLE Coupe and its high-performance counterpart, the AMG GLE63 S Coupe.

It's no coincidence they both look an awful lot like their BMW competition. But we'll say this about the new, second gen X6 M and its almost twin sibling, the AMG GLE63 S Coupe: they're crazy fast and powerful. 567 and 577 hp, respectively. Both have twin-turbo V8s and six-figure price tags. Which is better? Motor Trend aims to find out.
