Ferrari F8 Spider Upgraded To Over 800 Horsepower

Tuning / Comments

For those who think 710 hp just isn't enough.

Novitec recently unveiled its all-new package for the Ferrari F8 Spider. The focus of this package, according to Novitec, is to enhance the design and performance. Novitec has a long history of making angry Ferraris even angrier. Earlier this year, it made the already insane 812 GTSeven faster and louder, and in 2020 it upped the horsepower of the F8 Tributo to 800 hp. Now it's the drop-top's turn.

On the design side, Novitec uses carbon fiber. You can have it in the body color or leave it raw and naked with a high-gloss coating. Up front, it has a two-piece front spoiler and carbon flaps on both sides of the bumper. These additions are also functional, with the spoiler increasing downforce and the flaps directing airflow into the air intakes. Novitec also developed a high-performance exhaust system for the F8. The system is completely thermally insulated and can be had with or without exhaust flaps. Not only does it improve the sound, but it lowers the curb weight as well.

The non-functional design additions include a Novitec insert for the hood, the panel in front of the windshield, and side mirrors inspired by F1 cars. At the rear, the F8 Spider has a subtle spoiler lip, though Novitec has a slightly more exuberant ducktail design on offer. Options include naked carbon trim for the standard Ferrari-designed diffuser or a complete carbon fiber Novitec-designed diffuser. You can even add some carbon fiber trim around the backup camera. The side carbon fiber inserts behind the doors also direct the airflow to the radiators and air filters more efficiently.

For the wheels, Novitec turned to Vossen for help. The 21/22-inch forged alloy wheels boast an impressive track, measuring in at 9x21 inches at the front and 12x22 inches on the rear axle, while other enhancements include lowering the F8 by 1.4 inches with a lift system to help you get over bumps.

Instead of messing with one of the best production engines available, Novitec installs an N-Tronic control module for each bank of cylinders. This allows adjustments of the engine mapping and, crucially, improved electronic boost pressure control.

The most powerful configuration is 802 hp at 8,000 rpm and 662 lb-ft of torque. Novitec claims a 0-62 mph sprint time of 2.6 seconds and 0-124 mph in 7.8 seconds, with top speed increased to 213 mph.

On the inside, Novitec adds leather and Alcantara inserts tailored to the customer's demands.

How much for all of this? Well, Novitec does not include a price, but looking at the list of our ten favorite Novitec products, we're guessing it's not cheap.
