Novitec's Lamborghini Urus Is An 800-HP Super SUV

After extracting more performance from the Lamborghini Aventador and Huracan supercars, renowned tuner Novitec has turned its attention to the Urus SUV. Reports have claimed Lamborghini is working on a hardcore Performante version of the Urus, but if you can't wait until then Novitec's new monster SUV is the next best thing.

In stock form, the Urus is already one of the most powerful SUVs on the market with 641 horsepower and 626 lb-ft of torque to play with, but Novitec has taken it to the next level. The tuner is offering three tuning kits for the Urus that extract between 747 hp and a maximum 782 hp and 761 lb-ft of torque from the SUV's 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine – that's 130 hp and 132 lb-ft more than the standard model. All that power is sent to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Thanks to this power boost, Novitech's Lamborghini Urus sprints to 62 mph from a standstill in just 3.3 seconds and hits a top speed of 192 mph. For comparison, the standard Urus will do the same sprint in 3.6 seconds and top out at 189.5 mph.

To extract more performance from the Urus, Novitec installs two auxiliary control units that recalibrate the mapping for injection, boost pressure control and ignition. High-performance exhaust systems, available with or without actively controlled exhaust flaps, and 100-cell sports metal catalysts further optimize the power delivery. Novitec's control module also lowers the Super SUV by around 0.9 inches and lowers the center of gravity, resulting in improved handling.

As well as increasing the power, Novitec has improved the SUV's looks and handling with a custom widebody kit optimized in a wind tunnel. Customer fender flares at the front and rear axle make the Urus 3.9 inches wider at the front, while the width at the rear axle has extended by 4.7 inches to 6.9 feet.
