Now THIS Is What A Volvo Police Car Ought To Be

Once again, thank you Australia.

Go to other countries in the world and you'll find a wide assortment of police cars. In the US, as we all know, there are an abundance of Chevy Impalas, Dodge Chargers, Ford Interceptors, and even some remaining Crown Vics. In Germany, for example, some law enforcement dude drives around in a VW Passat wagon. Not especially intimidating, quite honestly. But go Down Under and there's now something new that's pretty badass. The Australian Federal Police has just acquired this Volvo S60 Polestar.

Currently partaking in evaluation testing, this S60 features all-wheel drive and is powered by a turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine that produces about 329 horsepower. Specifically, it's the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) that has acquired the S60 and will assesses a range of operational fleet alternatives over the next 12-18 months. "By doing this, we can obtain direct feedback on how the S60 performs from our officers who are out on the road, day and night, in all manger of driving conditions," stated Station Sergeant Rod Anderson.
