A showdown that must happen one day soon.
From time to time, a new supercar comes along that's unlike anything else out there. A game changer, if you will. It sets new standards in performance as well as handling. Driving fast on a straightaway is one thing, being able to do the same while on a track as tricky and dangerous as the Nurburgring is something else entirely. Both Porsche and McLaren gladly signed up for the challenge, and they each had somewhat similar, yet still very different, answers.
The Porsche 918 Spyder and McLaren P1 are a pair of state-of-the-art hypercars engineered not only to go fast, but also for superior handling. Both automakers claim their respective car is the dominate weapon of choice for the Nurburgring. Only the most skilled drivers will be able to fully realize the potential of each, and the only way to truly pick a winner is to test them back-to-back at the 'Ring itself. It's a showdown we're anxiously waiting for.
