Oddly-Named Mustang V8 GT Coupe the Black Edition Comes to Japan

Limited Edition

Special edition previous-gen Stang limited to 40 units.

Special editions are a big hit in Japan, and though Ford has already revealed the all-new Mustang it has decided to give the fifth-gen Stang a special send off in the Land of the Rising Sun. Curiously dubbed the “Ford Mustang V8 GT Coupe The Black,” just 40 units will be made all wearing a jet black exterior paintjob and an exclusive set of 19-inch alloys with black accents.

The black theme continues inside, where a glass roof with a three-layer structure will block 90 percent of infrared rays and 96 percent of ultraviolet rays. Under the hood, the familiar 5.0-liter V8 continues to deliver 426 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque sent to the tarmac via a six-speed auto box. Ford has priced the limited-run Mustang at 5.05 million Yen (around $50,000) and will go on sale in March.
