Now that the first deliveries for the Ford Bronco have started, we're starting to see videos of customer examples in action. Comparisons between the Bronco and the Jeep Wrangler were always going to be inevitable. But rather than take it on an intensive off-road trail to test its capability, we have the "very first Bronco Drag Race on YouTube" to see how it performs against its chief rival.

Of course, the off-road capability will be the most important factor for most people buying a Bronco or Wrangler, but it's still fun to watch the two heavyweights go head-to-head on a drag strip. Both SUVs used in the duel are four-door examples.

Under the hood, the Wrangler Unlimited Sahara is powered by a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 gasoline engine producing 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. The Bronco, on the other hand, utilizes a 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine generating 300 hp and 325 lb-ft of torque on premium fuel.

It's worth noting, however, that the Bronco was running on regular fuel, resulting in a slight loss of power. A more powerful 2.7-liter turbo V6 with 310 hp and 400 lb-ft is also available but a base model was used to keep the specs as close as possible.

Since the Bronco used in the drag race was running on regular fuel, the output drops to 270 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque. This gives the Ford a slight power disadvantage, but it has a lot more torque to help it off accelerate off the line. As for weight, the four-door Bronco weighs between around 4,500 and 5220 pounds depending on equipment. That makes it heavier than the Wrangler Unlimited Sahara, which has a curb weight of around 4,400 pounds.

In the first drag race, the lighter Wrangler comfortably beats the Bronco, which will probably upset some Bronco fans. Even with sport mode activated in the second race, the Bronco still loses despite getting an early lead. For the final race, the Bronco went up against a Hemi-powered Ram 1500 pickup, but you'll have to watch the video to find out the result.
