General Motors has made it official that the Chevrolet Cruze Eco will be getting a 2-mpg fuel economy boost in 2012. The 1.4-liter turbo and six-speed automatic-transmission will return as much as 39 mpg on the highway, giving it a 2-mpg increase over the current model. The Cruze Eco trim remains the most fuel-efficient gas powered non-hybrid in the United States to date.

Some of the features of the updated Cruze will include remote keyless entry on the 2LT trim and standard on LTZ will be touch screen navigation with 7-inch color display and fuel-saving rack mounted electric power steering. Lastly the exterior color options will be available in Blue Topaz Metallic, Blue Granite Metallic and Victory Red. No word yet on pricing for the 2012 Chevrolet Cruze.
