After months of sneak peeks, there are finally some official images and details of the new 2012 Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0. The RS 4.0 is powered by a naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six engine that can muster out some 500-horsepower. That puts the RS 4.0 at 50-horsepower more than the regular 911 GT3 RS. The exterior sports some unique elements, including the small canards along its front fascias, a GT style rear wing, carbon fiber hood and RSR-style widened wheel arches.
The automaker has stated that the prices in Europe are expected to start at € 149,990 (about $217,350) before taxes. This model is also likely to be the last variation of the current 997-generaton car before the whole 911 range is replaced with the upcoming '991' 2012 Porsche 911.
