Ahead of its Paris and Los Angeles public debuts and following endless spy shots andprototypes, the BMW 2 Series Convertible has finally been revealed, and promisesto deliver all of the coupe's acclaimed goodness with the additional bonus of asoft folding top and open-air experience. The 2 Series Convertible will first hit Europe, arriving inthe US next year. It will be sold in similar configurations to those of thecoupe, including the 228i, M235i and now the 228i xDrive with all-wheel drive.
The six-cylinder M235i delivers 320 horsepower while the turbocharged2.0-liter four-cylinder 228i packs 240 horses. Pricing starts at $38,850 forthe 228i, with xDrive models adding $2,000 and the M235i beginning at $48,650. AnxDrive M235i will also be available later on. The 228i will make the 0-60 mphsprint in 5.7 seconds and 5.6 seconds when equipped with xDrive, while the M235ipromises to do so in 5.0 seconds (manual transmission) and 4.8 with theeight-speed automatic transmission. The BMW 2 Series Convertible will hit showrooms in February.
