Claims that Buick has lost its performance abilities are very mistaken. The newly revived brand has officially confirmed that their upcoming Regal GS will deliver some 270hp and 295 lb-ft of torque with an estimated 0 to 60 time of 6.7 seconds. It will be powered by a Ecotec 2.0-liter direct-injected turbocharged four-cylinder that reportedly has even more torque than the Acura TSX V6, Audi A4 Sport, Lexus IS 250, and the Volvo S60 T5. It also comes standard with a six-speed manual transmission.

Other features include variable valve timing, forged steel crankshaft, twin scroll design turbocharger, and an efficient intercooler system. Drivers can also choose between different performance modes such as Standard, Sport and GS. Braking comes from a large diameter four-wheel disc brake system featuring four-piston Brembo front calipers. StabiliTrak electronic stability control also comes standard. 19-inch alloy wheels are also standard and 20-inchers are optional.
