Partway through 2020, Jeep revealed a concept Wrangler powered by a Hemi V8 engine. Shortly after, the 2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 made its official debut as the most powerful Wrangler model ever offered. A 6.4-liter V8 engine produces 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque, easily besting the second-most powerful Wrangler, the 4xe. All of this performance wasn't likely to come cheap, though, as leaked pricing predicted it would cost over $77,000.

It turns out the pricing leaks were a tad optimistic, but not by much. Jeep has officially announced the Wrangler Rubicon 392's starting price of $73,500 (excluding a $1,495 destination fee) for the Launch Edition model. As predicted, this is the most expensive Stelantis product to use the 6.4-liter Hemi engine, including the Dodge Durango SRT and Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT.

It's even more expensive than the Dodge Charger and Challenger Hellcat, both of which produce over 700 hp. To be fair, Jeep says the Wrangler Rubicon 392 comes extremely well-equipped with a two-inch factory lift, functional hood scoop with a Hydro-Guide air intake, beadlock-capable wheels, unique bolstered leather seats, and active dual-mode exhaust.

The Rubicon 392 Launch Edition adds a body-color hardtop and fender flares, the Steel Bumper Group, LED Lighting Group, Cold Weather Group, and Advanced Safety Group. In addition to what comes standard on the Launch Edition, customers can also add the Dual Door Group, Dual Top Group, Sky One-Touch Power Top, off-road camera, Trailer Tow Package, and a choice of BF Goodrich KO2 All-Terrain or Falken Wildpeak M/T tires.

"Our Jeep enthusiasts asked us for a Wrangler powered by a V8 engine, and we listened. The result is the quickest and most powerful Jeep Wrangler yet, loaded with standard off-road performance features that make this Jeep Wrangler incredibly capable of covering the most rugged terrain," said Jim Morrison, vice president of Jeep Brand North America. "This new Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 broadens the meaning of Jeep Wrangler 4x4 capability and gives off-road enthusiasts something they can't get anywhere else backed by the factory: V8 performance and a 0-60 time of 4.5 seconds."

Jeep says the Wrangler Rubicon 392 will arrive at dealerships this quarter of 2021. Like the Ram TRX, we expect there to be dealer markups.
