In America, the current model lineup for the Mercedes-Benz SL Class includes three phenomenal choices: the V-8 powered SL550 and SL63 AMG and the flagship V-12 SL65 AMG. In Europe, though, the roadster has also been available with an SL350 model, sporting a V-6 powered, 3.5-liter engine that never made it to our shores. But now, Mercedes has replaced this model with the SL400, still packing a 6-cylinder engine, but now reduced to a 3.0-liter twin-turbo.

Despite its smaller engine size, the SL400 will produce 328 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque. This allows the car to sprint from 0-62mph in 5.2-seconds, reaching a top speed of 155mph.And unlike its predecessor, Mercedes will import this model of the hardtop convertible to America starting this fall. US Pricing has yet to be released, but the German market will see a base price of 97,282 Euros (including 19% VAT).
