In America, the current model lineup for the Mercedes-BenzSL Class includes three phenomenal choices: the V-8 powered SL550 and SL63 AMGand the flagship V-12 SL65 AMG. In Europe, though, the roadster has also beenavailable with an SL350 model, sporting a V-6 powered, 3.5-liter engine that never made it to ourshores. But now, Mercedes has replaced this model with the SL400, still packinga 6-cylinder engine, but now reduced to a 3.0-liter twin-turbo.
Despite its smaller engine size, the SL400 will produce 328horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque. This allows the car to sprint from 0-62mphin 5.2-seconds, reaching a top speed of 155mph.And unlike its predecessor,Mercedes will import this model of the hardtop convertible to America startingthis fall. US Pricing has yet to be released, but the German market will see abase price of 97,282 Euros (including 19% VAT).
