Just a few days ago we posted an image of the upcoming 2011 Mopar Challenger. As a follow-up to the highly successful 2010 Mopar Challenger, Dodge is hoping the new car will make as many headlines as last year's effort. And judging by these new pictures, that first image was spot-on. The sedan car will only come in Pitch Black with a Mopar Blue stripe going across the top, from the hood to the trunk, along with 20-inch blacked-out wheels.

There's also a rear spoiler. As we reported earlier, the interior will feature special Mopar-branded Katzkin leather seats with contrasting Mopar blue stitching that's also on the steering wheel. It's powered by Dodge's 5.7-liter Hemi V8 that has 370 hp and 395 lb-ft of torque. Mopar's Super Track Pak is also included to enhance braking and handling. 0 to 60 time will reportedly be in the "low five second range." The transmission will be the next generation Pistol Grip that's combined with Auto Stick.

This allows the driver to select higher or lower gears that's combined with a transmission controller to ensure there's no over-revving. Other unique features include an identification plaque on the instrument panel with the car's production number along with Mopar floor mats and door sills. Pricing starts at $39,750 and there will be a limited production run of 500 units, although Dodge is considering adding an additional 500 cars later on. Sales will begin this summer.
