Stellantis CEO, Carlos Tavares, will deliver the keynote address at the famous Consumer Electronics Show 2023, more commonly known by its acronym CES. Not only is this quite an honor, but Tavares will finally unveil the highly-anticipated Ram 1500 Revolution EV concept truck and the all-new Peugeot Inception Concept.

CES has become a firm favorite of the automotive industry and as crucial as traditional motor shows as cars move in a more technologically advanced direction. According to Stellantis, the presentation will chronicle its vision of "making mobility clean, safe, and affordable for all."

While we're excited to finally see what Ram has in mind for its EV truck, the unveiling of the Peugeot is equally important, even though the French brand doesn't sell cars in the USA.

First. the truck. As we know, the Ram 1500 EV will be built on Stellantis' STLA Frame platform. The concept's job is to share how Ram will reinvent the EV truck segment.

CarBuzz spoke to Ram's CEO, Mike Koval, earlier this year about the upcoming EV. Ram is taking a unique approach to its first EV truck. First, it's spent a lot of time with existing Ram truck owners to find out what they need from an EV truck. Ram is well aware of the shortfalls, which is why it's keeping a close eye on competitors which have already launched an EV truck. This gives the American brand time to rectify any potential problems trucks like the F-150 Lightning and Rivian R1T might have. One example is Ford's continued towing problems with the F-150 Lightning.

By waiting a few years before going to market, Ram is confident its EV pickup will be the best. Koval also mentioned that the traditional powertrains aren't going anywhere, just in case you're a dedicated ICE fan.

The Peugeot Inception Concept is crucial because it will showcase how Stellantis will take advantage of EV design on the interior.

A standard skateboard platform gives engineers a lot of space to work with on the inside, effectively redesigning the interior space. If you look at the Ram's STLA Frame platform below, you can imagine all the possibilities regarding space utilization.

The Ram EV was already delayed once, but no reason was given. We think Ram wants to come out swinging, beating all of its rivals in every department. GM recently announced that its EV duo would pack a 754 horsepower and 785 lb-ft punch, but that's not all Ram is aiming for. Koval has mentioned towing and hauling several times, and we think those will be the main goals.

The keynote address is scheduled for January 5, 2023, at 11 PM ET.
