Back in 2000, Renault bought a 70 percent stake in Samsung Motors to help push the French automaker's expansion efforts in the Asian region. Now, Renault is finally ready to launch their new SM7 flagship sedan seven years after the original launched. The SM7 was developed in a 32 month time period, with R&D investments reaching around €207 million. It's larger than its predecessor with increased interior space, especially for rear seat passengers.

The SM7 is powered by the third generation of the Nissan VQ engine series and can be specified with one of two of those engines. The first option is a 2.5-liter V6 churning out 190hp and 180 lb-ft of torque. The second option is a 3.5-liter V6 delivering an output of 258hp and 243 lb-ft. Both engines are mated to a standard six-speed automatic transmission with a manual shift function. Renault also announced prices for their new SM7 flagship, which ranges from €19,724 to €25,641. For comparison, the previous SM7 ranged from €18,935 to €24,786.
