In another step towards the realization of the next-generation A3, Audi has released official drawings showing the three-door hatchback and sedan, plus a view of the interior. The sketches of the sedan are unsurprising since it shows a car very similar to the A4 Concept shown at the Geneva Motor Show. The hatchback is different and this is the first time Audi is providing a sneak peak at the design for its future compact model.
The hatch looks sharp and sporty with a narrow glasshouse, massive wheel arches and a crease in the lower part of the door that adds character. The interior is similar to that seen in the A3 Sedan Concept, only with fewer buttons and switches. The traditional center console has also been replaced by a prominent central tunnel. We can expect to see the new A3 unveiled next year as a three-door hatchback perhaps at the Geneva Motor Show. The five-door and sedan variants will arrive shortly thereafter.
