Oh BMW 8 Series, How We Miss You

Classic Cars

It's been more than a decade since BMW cancelled its 8 Series and we think it's about time for a new one. Don't you?

In 1989 BMW unveiled what’s without question one of the greatest models the German automaker has ever built. It was the flagship model for the brand from the day it was launched until it was discontinued ten years later. And we miss it, terribly so. The big coupe came with either a V8 or V12 and its sleek yet simple styling was nothing short of beautiful. There hasn’t been anything quite like it since. To commemorate its old flagship, BMW has just released this short tribute video.

And despite the somewhat disturbing robot-like voice-over, the video just makes us want to see a new 8 Series even more. A production version of the BMW Pininfarina Gran Lusso Coupe would do just fine, by the way. BMW, are you listening?
