Back in the 1990s there were many great Japanese sports cars, among them the Toyota Supra, Mazda RX-7, and Nissan 300ZX. All wonderful cars that were sold on the same dealership lots alongside the likes of Corollas, 323s, and Sentras. Hard to believe those conservative brands had the guts to build sports cars of that caliber. Save for today's Z car, only Nissan continued (relatively) in that higher level and mainstream sports car class. The Mitsubishi 3000GT? Don't make us laugh. Damn, we miss that one, too.

Point being, Japanese automakers know how to build fast and reliable sports cars but chose not to for several years. Fortunately, they're starting to jump back into the segment today. And here to give us a 90s throwback is this Motor Week Retro Review of a 1993 PFS RX-7 and Stillen GTZ. Yes, the 90s ruled.
