On The Nurburgring FWD Can Be Just As Scary As RWD

Video

All of these FWD crashes prove that!

Many car enthusiasts like to overplay the superiority of RWD. Even we understand that RWD is better for enthusiasts, but that doesn't mean that there aren't good FWD cars out there. The Volkswagen GTI for example is a very good car. It may also be true that RWD is harder to tame. But that doesn't mean that FWD is easy, especially on a difficult track like the Nurburgring. After watching an almost seven minute compilation of FWD crashes at the Nurburgring, we can respect how hard some of these drivers were pushing their cars.

In most of these crashes the cars exhibited classic FWD understeer. Then, in order to correct, many drivers lifted off the throttle and over corrected causing lift-off oversteer. Who says FWD cars are all boring?
