One-Off Bugatti Grand Sport Wei Long 2012 Revealed in Beijing

2012 Beijing Auto Show

A Super Sport wrapped in Grand Sport clothing, the Vitesse has made its Asian debut with a one-off model for the local market.

The Bugatti Veyron Vitesse Roadster made its official debut back in March at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, and now the fastest, most powerful convertible on the road has made its Asian debut in Beijing alongside a one-off Grand Sport model dubbed the 'Wei Long 2012.' Paying homage to the year of the dragon, the one-of-a-kind supercar convertible comes equipped with unique porcelain dragon relief sections that feature both inside and out.

The specs of the fastest production roadster on the planet are worth revisiting. It cranks out 1,200hp and 1,106lb-ft of torque from its record-breaking Veyron SuperSports 7.9-liter W16 engine complete with four enlarged turbochargers; and can hit 62mph from rest in only 2.6 seconds en route to a top speed of 255mph. To date, 350 Veyron models have been built, each to specific individual requirements. On show in Beijing is a Grand Sport Vitesse in all black with red rims in a diamond pattern with a carmine red interior. Bugatti has priced it at €1.80 million.
