British premium car model maker, Amalgam Collection, has been building perfect scale replicas of modern cars since 1995. The company started out prototyping products, including the very first Dyson vacuum cleaners. Amalgam also creates development models for automakers as well as display models, and the company's use of CAD design, 3D printing, and CNC machining matched to traditional machining and hand working skills makes for the perfect recipe for building these incredible scale replicas for collectors. They don't come cheap, and for the price of a decent used full-sized daily driver, you can get something like this Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse White Edition.

The level of detail is exquisite, right down to the perfectly replicated interior. To get down to the level of detail and exactitude, Amalgam worked with Bugatti and used a mixture of the original CAD files and digital scanning of the original car. The company also used its relationship with Bugatti to go in-depth on original finishes, materials, and obtain archive imagery and drawings to get the obsessive amount of detail into the model. On top of that, the model has also been scrutinized by the original Bugatti engineering and design teams to ensure the representation of their car is as close to perfect as can be.

The Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse is an engineering masterpiece, and still the fastest open-top production car in the world with a speed of 254.04 mph. Also in Amalgam's collection for Bugatti lovers is a 57SC Atlantic "The Lord Rothschild," a 2016 Chiron in the classic two-tone blue color scheme, a Veyron Super Sport in chrome, a scale replica of the Type 35T that won the Targa Florio in 1926, and an fantastic 1:4 scale replica of the Chiron's W16 engine and transmission.

Unfortunately, this one-off full-white 1:8 Grand Sport Vitesse is sold already, but we'll be keeping an eye on Amalgam, and it's insanely beautiful models.
