One-Off Ford F-150 Raptor Celebrates Xbox One X Launch

One-off / 5 Comments

Forza Motorsport 7 players will be able to take the one-off pickup for a virtual drive early next year.

To celebrate this month's launch of the new Xbox One X games console, Ford Performance has partnered with Microsoft to create a specially modified Ford F-150 Raptor Xbox One X Edition, which is currently being showcased at the Las Vegas SEMA show this week. Since it's effectively advertising the most powerful console ever made, the one-off pickup is based on a modified version of Ford's range-topping F-150 Raptor. "The Xbox One X is the world's most powerful console," said Henry Ford III, Ford Performance Marketing Manager.

"It's the benchmark in the console gaming world, while F-150 Raptor is its equivalent in the world of pickup trucks." The 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor Xbox One X Edition features design elements inspired by the console's "Project Scorpio" internal code name and the Raptor's desert racing heritage, including unique graphics, paint, and upholstery. It rides on a set of custom wheels, and features unique bumpers, chase rack and LED lighting in the Xbox console's signature green color. The one-off pickup has also received several performance-enhancing modifications including a Fabtech six-inch lift kit, upgraded Alcon brakes, an Addictive Desert Designs intercooler and a Ford Performance Borla exhaust.

It isn't clear, however, if these modifications have resulted in a power increase. Out of the factory, the F-150 Raptor is powered by a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 producing 450 horsepower. "We have long enjoyed and valued our partnership with Ford Performance and feel privileged to work with them on the incredible F-150 Raptor, an iconic American legend," said Mike Humphreys, Senior Director, Business and Partnerships for Forza Franchise, Turn 10 Studios. "The Ford Raptor is built on top of another iconic legend, the Ford F-150 pickup, resulting in technical excellence and off-road innovations that make it a Forza fan favorite."

Since it's a one-off, the Ford F-150 Raptor Xbox One Edition won't be going on sale, but Forza Motorsport 7 players will get to take it for a virtual drive in the game for free early next year. Forza has featured more Ford Performance models than any other racing game series, from the Fiesta ST and Focus RS, to the Mustang GT 350, F-150 Raptor, and Ford GT which all made their digital debuts in Forza.
