New Mustang will be first to receive new SYNC AppLink.
We thought CES would be the ideal venue to showcase the Mustang's new burnout control system. Alas, Ford has instead revealed the next-generation SYNC AppLink system that's set to debut in the 2015 Mustang. The rest of the Ford lineup will eventually get the updated voice recognition system, which the carmaker insists is now easier to use thanks to simpler on-screen menus and enhanced voice control.
The improved system also gives apps access to in-car information such as speed, acceleration and location. For example, Domino's Pizza has created an app with Ford that enable users to order a pizza from their car using a few simple voice commands. Parking apps have also been built that will help drivers locate a parking spot and then pay for it.
