Companion apps for cars are becoming increasingly common, allowing owners to control functions using their smartphone and monitor elements such as the fuel level and location. Now, Pagani is introducing L.E.O. (Learn Evaluate Operate), a new control and data monitoring platform that allows owners of the Huayra hypercar to perform remote diagnosis and predictive maintenance from a distance.

Once installed in the car, L.E.O. connects to the vehicle's electronic architecture and collects information from various control units to perform constant analysis and monitoring of the connected systems. This data is then sent to a central server that captures and stores the parameters of each connected Pagani car, which are then analyzed by algorithms set by Pagani.

After the data has been processed, the system can send predictive maintenance notifications or install updates remotely using a specially developed firmware over the air system. Pagani's L.E.O. system is already included on the Huayra Roadster BC and can be retrofitted to all other Huayra models.

Using a dedicated phone app, owners can also monitor the status of the car, get notified about updates, or install updates remotely. For example, a video shows an owner installing an engine control module update for their Pagani to optimize the performance.

It also allows Pagani dealers to locate possible faults before they become a serious problem for owners. Development of Pagani L.E.O. took more than three years and the Italian automaker also collaborated with Vodafone Business, While1 and DMD Computers to create the platform.

"In the early 2000s we were one of the first companies in the industry to experiment with remote diagnostics and we have always realised the huge advantages in being able to support our customers remotely. We can now take advantage of the technological advances made in the last decade. We have developed L.E.O., which can offer this and much more, creating tangible value for our customers" said Horacio Pagani, Founder and Chief Designer of Pagani Automobili.
