Up until now, we've only seen the Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo concept at a standstill, specifically on the floor of last September's Paris Motor Show. Other than that event and an array of photos, Porsche has yet given us a glimpse of its striking shooting brake out on the open road. That's all changed now as the German automaker has released this new video and a slew of photos showing the gorgeous concept outside of the showroom walls.

The video itself is particularly interesting as the concept's designers discuss their inspiration for the car and how they focused on making it beautiful. Now, Porsche has not really been known as a design powerhouse, but like many of its other new models, it's now clear there's a renewed focus on better styling.

The Sport Turismo concept, widely thought to preview the next-gen Panamera, is motivated by a new hybrid powertrain, and also sports a wagon-like roofline, making the concept something of a trifecta for Porsche. Just which of its elements - new design, hybrid powertrain and wagon body-style - will make it to production remains to be seen as Porsche works to diversify its lineup.
