Having been founded in 1989 by Dan Panoz, the bespoke sports car builder is celebrating 25 years of its Esperante road car, with the release of the 25th Anniversary Edition Esperante Spyder. Staying true to the Georgia, USA-based, carmaker's successful routes of potent powerplant, manual transmission and lightweight body, the Esperante Spyder features a 5.0-liter V8 generating 430 hp, a supercharged variant that delivers 575 hp and, in collaboration with Elan Power Products, a custom-built engine rated at over 800 hp.

With a 1,418-kg curb weight, expect the Spyder to offer exceptional performance. Featuring a radiant red aluminum body, carbon-fiber accents, and a tan leather interior, Panoz says the Anniversary Edition model will be limited to just 25 units, priced at $179,120, with a Spyder GT variant, also limited to 25 units, priced at $204,750. The latter is more track-focused, with a carbon-fiber splitter and diffuser, Brembo brakes, and wider body. Both cars come with a six-speed manual or optional six-speed auto with paddle shifters, 19-inch alloys, traction control, high-tech gauges, lightweight and fully adjustable carbon-fiber sport seats, a Schroth four-point safety harness, wood interior trim, and a race-inspired carbon fiber steering wheel.

The special edition model also boasts added stiffness and structural integrity thanks to dual steel roll hoops braced into the rear subrframe, and a carbon-fiber windshield frame.
