For a classic car enthusiast, there are always museums and concourse events, but quite often some of the biggest and most exciting times are auctions. And RM Auctions Paris event had some absolutely jaw-dropping examples of automotive excellence. And it wasn't even just cars, there were a couple of examples of Ferrari engines which could stop you in your tracks. Most important was a prototype 2.0-liter twin-turbo V8 that led to the 288 GTO engine.

But obviously the cars were the main attraction, and speaking of F40s, there was one of those. There was also a Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 Sports Lightweight, a car that has recently become extremely valuable. There was a prewar racecar, a 1935 Delahaye 135 S, and a prewar Bentley "Honeymoon Express" Coupe by Park Ward. The most valuable cars included a Mercedes-Benz 300SL Roadster and a 1963 Ferrari 250 GT/L "Lusso." But the crown jewel was a 1939 Alfa Romeo 6C2500 Sport Touring, although we unfortunately don't have the final dollar numbers on any of these yet.
