The Sweet 16 kicks off today with the Powerhouse Bracket. Remember, the winner of the Powerhouse Bracket will take on the winner of the Mid-Major Bracket in the Championship Game. Powerhouse finalists left: the #1 ranked Ferrari F12berlinetta, #2 Koenigsegg Agera R, #3 Lamborghini Aventador J, #4 Bugatti Vitesse Roadster, #5 Gumpert Apollo R, #6 Brabus Bullit C-Class Coupe, #7 GTA Spano, #9 Pagani Huayra Carbon Edition

Mid-Major finalists left: #1 Touring Superleggera Disco Volante, #2 Mercedes-Benz A-Class Hatchback, #3 Maserati GranTurismo GT, #4 Jaguar XF Sportbrake, #5 2013 Porsche Boxster, #6 Italdesign Brivido, #8 MINI JCW Countryman, #10 Seed Ford Fiesta ST Sweet 16 - Game 1: #1 Seed Ferrari F12berlinetta vs. #9 Seed Pagani Huayra Carbon Edition The Ferrari F12berlinetta combines ridiculously good styling with serious power and state-of-the-art racing technology. The Pagani Huayra Carbon Edition weighs very little, looks very good and goes very fast.

Coverage and relevance were the deciding factors here, as the Ferrari and Pagani both carry huge price tags, emit serious power (730hp and KERS vs. 700hp, respectively) and reach crazy speeds (211+mph vs. 230 mph). The F12berlinetta was the toast of the automotive town for weeks (and still is) while the Huayra Carbon Edition is really just a special edition of the incredible Italian supercar. The Pagani is in another buzzer-beater, but this time it goes down to the Prancing Horse. Winner: #1 Seed Ferrari F12berlinetta

Sweet 16 - Game 2: #4 Seed Bugatti Vitesse Roadster vs. #5 Seed Gumpert Apollo R The Gumpert Apollo R is a beast on the track. Weighing in at less than 2,500lbs and sporting an 860hp 4.2-liter bi-turbo V8, the interestingly colored Gumpert blasts to speeds around 200 mph. The Bugatti Vitesse Roadster brushes the Apollo R off its shoulders with a Veyron SuperSport-sourced 7.9-liter W16 engine with 1,200hp and 1,106 lb-ft of torque. Some people cruise at 55 mph on the highway and the Vitesse drives that over its competition with a top speed of 255 mph.

The planet's fastest roadster garnered attention all over the world and was one of the most talked about models in Geneva. Bugatti bowls another strike and advances to the Elite 8. Winner: #4 Seed Bugatti Vitesse Roadster

Sweet 16 - Game 3: #3 Seed Lamborghini Aventador J vs. #6 Seed Brabus Bullit C-Class Coupe The impressive Lamborghini Aventador J was designed from start to finish in only 6 weeks. The chopped-top Aventador utilizes the 6.5-liter V12 engine with 700hp which is no slouch compared to the Brabus Bullit. The C-Class coupe-based Brabus Bullit packs an 800hp plant for a top speed of 230 mph and a 0-124 mph time of only 9.8 seconds. The Aventador J and Bullit are both great-looking cars and with exceptional styling and performance, both garnered their fair share of attention.

The big difference between the two is that the Bullit was such a masterpiece it really added to the German tuner's reputation while the Aventador J was a one-off which serves only as a precursor to Lamborghini's eventual release of the Aventador Roadster. It's another close one, but going 230 mph in a custom-built blacked-out car sounds like a better proposition than eating bugs at quick speeds. Winner: #6 Seed Brabus Bullit C-Class Coupe

Sweet 16 - Game 4: #2 Seed Koenigsegg Agera R vs. #7 Seed GTA Spano This matchup features two of the most powerful cars from the 2012 Geneva Motor Show. The GTA Spano features an 840hp 8.3-liter V10 while the Koenigsegg Agera R runs on a re-tuned for 1,140hp 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine. The Agera R for 2013 will be the fastest production car in the world, according to Koenigsegg. The GTA Spano is the pride and joy of Spain and can run from 0-62 mph in 2.9 seconds and hit a top speed of 217 mph. The Agera R is the pride and joy of Sweden and owns the world record for 0-186 mph-0 and will hit 273 mph.

The Spano is great, the Agera R is even greater. GTA put Spanish supercars on the court in terms of performance with its European competition, but the Agera R is the soon-to-be-crowned king. Winner: #2 Seed Koenigsegg Agera R Stay tuned for tomorrow's edition of BUZZ Car Madness as the Mid-Majors take center stage in the second half of the Sweet 16.
