The Ford F-150 is still one of the most popular trucks ever made, and with new versions available with greener powerplants, it's set to remain that way for a long time to come. But if you aren't satisfied with the standard vehicle, you can enhance it with the help of various tuners. There's a Shelby F-150 and a ridiculous Hennessey version too. While each of these modified trucks is quite expensive, the people at PaxPower - who have tuned numerous F-150s - are now offering upgrades for the 2021 F-150 that are far more affordable.

Called the Alpha, PaxPower's latest package has a number of upgrades on offer. First off, PaxPower addresses the suspension with something that is known to work. All of the stock suspension components from the F-150 Raptor have been added to the Alpha, from the control arms and axles to the steering links and Fox Racing Raptor shock absorbers. You also get the Raptor's brake lines, leaf springs, and bump stops. As a result, you get enhanced capability with a comfortable ride. But there's more to this package than just the addition of an OEM suspension upgrade.

A tuned truck needs to stand out, so PaxPower looks at enhancing the appearance of the F-150 too. Fender flares have been added, along with a vented hood, a graphics package, and 35-inch off-road tires. Various styles of 17-inch off-road wheels are also offered, while the F-150 sounds a little gnarlier thanks to an upgraded dual exhaust system. All of this costs just $18,950, but you can spend more if you opt for the available bumper upgrades with lighting enhancements for $6,950.

But what about performance? Well, you can upgrade the 5.0-liter V8 engine with a 3.0-liter twin-screw Whipple supercharger to develop 770 horsepower and 675 lb-ft of torque. This costs $12,450, but if you don't have the V8 engine, the 3.5-liter EcoBoost can be upgraded to 500 hp and 625 lb-ft. The PowerStroke Diesel can also be enhanced to 400 hp. Each of these V6 upgrades costs $2,950 including installation.

Considering that both Shelby and Hennessey's offerings cost between 20 and 50 grand more than a fully loaded F150 Platinum V8 with the top 770-hp upgrade (ringing in at approximately $100,000), PaxPower should see these packages fly off the shelves.
