The Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance has always brought us some of the best public appearances from the world's most jaw-droppingly gorgeous classic cars. About the only thing able to upstage it also comes from Pebble Beach, and it is the Concept Lawn, a showing of new designs brought by both manufacturers and smaller coachbuilders. The latter range from relatively mild design tweaks of already excellent cars to outrageous complete rebodies.

Custom and low-production models included reinterpretations of the Ford GT, the Alfa Romeo 8C and the C6 Corvette. There was a Zagato-designed one-off Aston-Martin DB9, and a Pininfarina take on a big BMW Coupe, known as the MW Pininfarina Gran Lusso Coupe. Manufacturers like Lincoln and Hyundai brought some very nice but fairly mainstream concepts, while Porsche wheeled out the 918 Spyder and Lamborghini brought the insane (and insanely expensive) Veneno. This is by no means a complete list, and as with anything to do with the Pebble Beach automotive events, the Concept Lawn is truly awe inspiring.
