RM Auctions is offering a lineup of five supercharged eight-cylinder Mercedes-Benz cars from the 1930s including some rare designs. One of the vintage Mercedes-Benz's up for bids is a 1937 540 K Spezial Roadster, which is expected to set the mark for the highest Benz up for bid at the auction by a large amount. The current record was set by RM at its London sale back in October 2007, when a 1937 540 K Spezial Roadster owned by Formula One boss, Bernie Ecclestone, sold for $7.6 million.

The Mercedes-Benz 540 K Spezial Roadster is looking to fetch a price tag somewhere in the neighborhood of $10-$15 million and will easily shatter the mark set back in 2007. The Roadster owned by Bernie Ecclestone was converted from right-hand-drive to left-hand-drive and the spare wheel on the rear deck was exposed. Some other classic cars making their way to the prestigious Pebble Beach Auction will be four Mercedes's from the collection of Major General William Lyon with each Mercedes carrying a price somewhere in the $4 million range.

They include a 1935 500 K Roadster, 1936 540 K Spezial Coupe, 1936 540 K Sport Cabriolet and a 1939 540 K Spezial Roadster. The Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance takes place next month, from August 20th to August 21st. Photos courtesy of RM Auctions.
