The French carmaker has revealed the European variant of the 408, which will soon be available for less than the price of a 308. Russia will be the first country to get the model, followed by the Ukraine and later other markets in Eastern Europe. Compared to the Peugeot 408 sold in Argentina, Brazil and China, the European sedan has been given restyled front & rear bumpers, new alloys, and fresh body color options.

The European model will come with 120hp 1.6-liter VTi and 143hp 2.0-liter gasoline engines, with the latter getting the option of an automatic transmission. A diesel powered 408 might also be available. At 4.68 meters in length, the 408 will be positioned between the 308 and 508. It will debut at the Moscow Auto Show and hit Russian showrooms in October. The PSA Peugeot-Citroen group has also announced the car will soon be launched in Latin America.
