You may associate the letters GTI with Volkswagen, but the German automaker isn't the only one assigning them to a hot hatch. Peugeot also has a long relationship with the name, relaunching itself into the hot-hatch game with the new 208 GTI. And to celebrate, it's offering a new limited edition version. Limited to just 54 examples (29 of which are earmarked for the UK), the 208 GTI Limited Edition is distinguished by a number of special touches.

Aside from all the bells and whistles from the options list, the special-edition GTI features a flag motif on the lower edge of the grille, special 17-inch wheels, red brake calipers, part-leather seats and an individual number plate that is sure to help this version hold its value over time. Power comes from a 1.6-liter turbo four with 200 horsepower, co-developed with BMW, delivering a 0-62 time of 6.8 seconds. That bit is unchanged from the regular-production 208 GTI that will continue to be offered after all 54 examples of this limited edition are spoken for.
