If you were ever in doubt, seatbelts really do save lives.
Firefighters were stunned to discover a pickup truck balancing on top of a car in Arizona. It may look like a staged Hollywood stunt, but it's the aftermath of a scary three-car traffic accident. According to a Facebook post by the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office, the woman driving the white Mazda pickup truck was hit by another truck driving alongside her. This caused her to lose control and veer into oncoming traffic, where she was hit by a black car. The impact was so severe, it sent the pickup flipping through the air before it landed on a red Honda CR-V SUV where it came to rest on the roof.
According to the Facebook post, there were two occupants in the CR-V, and one each in the black car and white truck. The most remarkable part of this story? Nobody was injured in the freak accident, let alone killed. If you ever need a reminder of why it's important to wear a seatbelt, just look at the photos of these mangled wrecks knowing everyone walked away without suffering any injuries. It's also a testament to the Honda CR-V's rigid structure that the roof can endure being pummeled by a flying pickup truck.
"This is the second accident this week where the use of seatbelts has helped avert a tragedy and firefighters would once again like to remind everyone that the use of this simple device saves lives daily," the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office wrote. According to the Facebook post, the driver of the black pickup that caused all this chaos fled the scene and is still at large. The Prescott Police Department is urging anyone with information about the accident to come forward and help track the driver down.
