What really defines a true exotic or upscale luxury car? How can one car on four wheels cost $20,000 and another escalate into the millions? Besides blatantly obvious factors like arresting styling and massively powerful engines, the signs are often found in smaller details.

Rolls-Royce can charge hundreds of thousands of dollars for its cars because it spent 10,000 hours perfecting the new Ghost's stunning illuminated dashboard. Similarly, Lamborghini offers a dedicated parking bay at a special facility for Essenza SCV12 customers, along with dedicated track-day experiences at some of the world's most famous circuits. You don't get this stuff with the purchase of your Honda Civic, and now, the Pininfarina Battista pure-electric hypercar has even made charging your car an occasion.

In case you forgot, the Battista EV by Automobili Pininfarina is a 1,877-horsepower beast with four electric motors and the ability to reach 60 mph in just two seconds, with a top speed of over 217 mph.

Now, the company has announced an exclusive Pininfarina SpA-designed customizable wall box and five years of complimentary charging to offer Battista customers the best possible charging experience, whether at home or on the move. The wall box is finished in the same color as the paint chosen for the car itself and is made using recycled and organic materials.

It was developed together with EV infrastructure pioneer Green Motion and offers up to 7.2 kW in the US. Dubbed the Residenza, the wall box can be activated via a dedicated app, allowing for remotely scheduled charging. US customers will receive a tethered Type 1 cable with their wall box.

When charging on the move, customers will be able to take advantage of the brand's new partnership with ChargePoint, providing five years of unlimited public charging at zero additional cost. ChargePoint's network includes 115,000 locations across Europe and North America and, by plugging into the 180-kW DC-charging system, the 120-kWh battery can be charged from 20 to 80 percent in only 25 minutes. On a full charge, the WLTP range works out to over 310 miles.

"Our clients will love the thrill of Battista's extreme electrified performance, yet they also need to enjoy living with this advanced technology," said Paolo Dellacha, the company's Chief Product and Engineering Officer. "A large proportion of the Battista's charging will be done at home and our exclusive wall box design provides owners with a bespoke solution, finished to their exact taste."

Automobili Pininfarina's efforts to make the entire EV hypercar experience an effortless, exclusive, and enjoyable one will go a long way to ensuring the success of the Battista.
