While many manufacturers have already shown off some of their Geneva-bound cars in full ahead of next week's show, renowned Italian design house Pininfarina is still opting to tease us about its EF7 Vision Gran Turismo concept car. As the name implies, the EF7 is part of a unique program for the Gran Turismo video game series in which manufacturers design bespoke concepts which are then digitally recreated in the racing simulation game series for players to take on a virtual drive, spawning some stunning creations like the Bugatti Veyron Vision GT.

Named after Emerson Fittipaldi, a renowned Formula 1 champion and Indy 500 winner, the Pininfarina promises to be an extraordinary supercar. Its lightweight carbon fiber monocoque chassis makes it weigh less than 1,000 kilograms while the naturally aspirated V8 engine churns out nearly 592 horsepower. Better still, unlike the Bugatti Veyron Vision GT, the EF7 will eventually become a production car, albeit one likely to be produced in limited numbers, so it shouldn't cause too much concern for Ferrari and Lamborghini. Previous teaser images of the EF7 Vision Gran Turismo have focused on its front and rear-end.

This latest teaser image gives us a look at its gaping carbon fiber rear wing, which should give you an indication of how much downforce this savage supercar will demand. We also get to see a clear engine cover showing off its beating V8 heart. Being named after a racing driver, don't be surprised if the final design resembles a race car for the road. We're itching to see Pininfarina lift the covers off the EF7 at Geneva next week, in what should be a standout at the show. PlayStation players will presumably be able to download the EF7 in the upcoming Gran Turismo Sport game due out at some point this year.
