After a successful year of marketing the Pininfarina Battista in the US, the boutique hypercar manufacturer, which will soon compete against the likes of the Lotus Evija, has announced that it will be expanding its presence in the country with an additional pair of retailers. Newport Beach Automotive Group in Orange County and Lake Forest Sportscars in Chicago will take on the responsibility of selling the electric performance product that will officially enter production in Italy this spring.

With this, Pininfarina's local presence is expanded to nine retailers in the North American region. 2021 saw the official reveal of the Battista Anniversario at the Monterey Car Week. All five examples of this exclusive model were sold on the spot which highlights the demand for new-age electrified hypercars, particularly in this continent.

Pininfarina acknowledges the North American market as one of its most important ones. Its 16 other dealer partnerships are currently established in Europe, the Middle East, and the Asia Pacific. According to the brand, all of these retail partners have garnered comprehensive track records when it comes to managing the sales and servicing of exclusive and luxury vehicles.

Although it was revealed to us back in 2019, the Pininfarina Battista will only be ready for production later this year as it enters its final stages of development. The Italian marque explains that, with a total of 128 million different interior combinations alone, each specific unit will be completely bespoke to the next.

The Newport Beach location comes as an expansion to the brand's presence in California and is operated by the Newport Beach Automotive Group. This joins the network of existing retailers in the area such as O'Gara Coach in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, and Luxury Cars Los Gatos in San Francisco. This particular space will provide luxurious convenience to new clients in the Orange County region as it adds to the total of three partners situated in the west coast region.

The Chicago division is operated by Lake Forest Sportscars which is a family-run business that has been operating since 1923. Pininfarina says it was happy to engage in a partnership with this dealership because it shares the same values and ethos when it comes to having a passion for exquisite cars. The business is situated in Lake Bluff, Illinois which is just north of Chicago.

Together with these two new partners, Pininfarina customers will also benefit from the car's connected systems, which will include over-the-air software updates regardless of the owner's location. Furthermore, the company will be offering a 'flying doctor' to worldwide locations for in-person technical support, if required.

The Pininfarina Battista is a fully electric performance car that is powered by four liquid-cooled permanent magnet synchronous electric motors placed at each wheel. These work in conjunction to deliver 1,900 horsepower and 1,696 lb-ft of torque and offer a claimed range of 310 miles on a full charge. Energy is sourced from a 120-kWh lithium nickel manganese cobalt oxide battery pack developed by Rimac.
