Digital entertainment company Pioneer GB has teamed up with Mercedes-Benz UK to create the ultimate DJ van. Dubbed Project-X, the Vito has been trimmed with £25,000 ($38,500) worth of Pioneer's Sound Pressure Level in-car entertainment products. The set-up includes two 15-inch competition class SPL subs and four 10-inch Champion Series sub-woofers, two Pioneer CDJs and a state-of-the-art mixer.

With no less than eight independent amplifiers requiring four batteries and a 300amp power supply, the total system boasts a speaker power handling capability of a mindboggling 30,500 Watts. The overall result is a system that offers a competent party set-up with a clear, powerful and wide-ranging bass response. Project-X doesn't include any enhancements to the 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine, capable of 221hp and 325lb-ft of torque, but there are some cosmetic upgrades including a Brabus sport steering wheel, and black leather gear lever with Brabus emblem and lowering springs.

A sports exhaust system, chrome sidebars, metallic paint, tinted glass, chrome grille, tailgate trim and color-coded bumpers complete the visual enhancements. Van Sales and Marketing Director for Mercedes-Benz UK, Steve Bridge, commented, "We're keen to get the vehicle out and about to showcase what it can do in front of a live audience and look forward to seeing the public's reaction to such a breath-taking machine."
