With its dual motor setup producing up to 750 hp and 774 lb-ft of torque combined, the Porsche Taycan is one of the fastest electric cars on the market, with the range-topping Taycan Turbo capable of accelerating from 0-62 mph in a neck-snapping 2.6 seconds before reaching a top speed of 161 mph.

But to maximize the performance when transferring all that power to the tarmac, you'll need to fit the best possible tires. Enter Formula 1 tire supplier Pirelli, a company famous for creating bespoke tires for some of the world's fastest supercars - and the Porsche Taycan is no exception.

At last year's 2019 Geneva Motor Show, Pirelli showcased its new Elect tire range designed specifically for electric cars. One year later, the Porsche Taycan is the first car available with Pirelli's new Elect tires that can handle the immense power and instantaneous torque of electric cars.

Pirelli's engineers developed a specific P Zero Elect tire for the Porsche Taycan featuring a unique compound, construction, and tread pattern design. Thanks to their low rolling resistance, Pirelli's Elect tires will maximize the car's range, reduce road noise to increase cabin comfort, and improve grip levels.

Just in time for the winter season, Pirelli is also offering Elect versions of its Winter Sottozero 3, Scorpion Winter, and P Zero Winter tires, with the latter available for the Taycan in 19- or 20-inches. Compared to summer or all-season tires, Pirelli's Elect winter tires have softer compounds providing better traction on slippery surfaces and more secure braking while still offering the same driving feel as the summer P Zero tires. They will also help maximize the driving range, which often decreases in EVs in cold conditions.

These bespoke winter tires are distinguished by M+S symbols and the three-peak mountain snowflake logo and meet the requirements of winter traffic laws around the world.
